The Bieb is-Salesjan set of Lazarus Tiles was salvaged during the renovation of the Teatru Salesjan in Sliema.
The reverse side of the tiles are stamped with Ghilardi & C Palermo, indicating that they were manufactured in Sicily. Prestigious projects whose developers had deeper pockets were often finished with terrazzo-style cement tiles purchased from Italy.
Still undergoing renovation and desperately in need of funding, €50 from every tile will be donated to the Teatru Salesjan.
