The Spraġ Kaħlani set of Lazarus Tiles was salvaged from Triq il-Librerija in the Vajrinġa area of Victoria, Gozo.
Blue was seldom used in encaustic tiles locally due to the cost of the pigment, which was historically extracted from lapis lazuli. Antique tiles with such a vibrant shade of turquoise are therefore quite rare.
Size 21cm x 21cm
To hang your Lazarus Tile attach two small hooks 15cm apart.
If hanging on a stone wall, use a drill and plastic wall plugs with hooks to avoid damaging the stone.
If attaching to a gypsum wall use plasterboard plugs and hooks to ensure that the Lazarus Tile is securely hung.
