Each Lazarus Tiles edition is a unique cement tile, handmade in Malta which has been salvaged from a property which has been demolished or where it could not be re-used.

I was inspired to start the Lazarus Tiles project while searching for reclaimed tiles to use in my home renovation. The amount which are discarded on a daily basis is staggering and I set about saving and documenting as many as I can before they are lost to the landfill forever.​

While they no longer fulfil their original purpose, I like to think of these tiles as though they are enjoying their retirement, not having to bear any weight after generations of doing so in our homes.
